Baby Dedication

Yesterday was a sweet day for our family, as we had Logan and Will dedicated to the Lord. Our family and friends gathered at our church, Mountain Brook Community, to share in the babies' dedication day. We had been looking forward to this day for a long time and it was a very special day. I think I've been looking to it for many years as I have watched mommies and daddies dedicate their little ones at church. We are so thankful for the Lord's gift to us of Logan and William. We are truly blessed by their lives and pray that we will be the parents God has called us to be.

During the service the pastor asked the fathers to read verses for their children. Andrew read the following verses for our sons:

For Logan we chose the verse Zephania 3:17 "The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

For Will, we chose Ephesians 3:17-19 "And [we] pray... that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power together will all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses all understanding, that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."

Our pastor, Tim Kallum, closed the dedication by praying individually for each child and their parents. The babies did really well, no crying or messes! The congregation got a chuckle when Will grabbed the pastor's tie as we were about to step back. It was a very special time and we're so thankful for all who were able to be there to share in it! Afterwards we all went back to our house for a little lunch celebration and time together. Our boys are so blessed to have so many family and friends (who feel like family) to love them and support them. Thanks to all (including those who could not be there) for being a part of their lives!
