Fall is in the air and it's a great time for a road trip! We LOADED up our car, top to bottom with all the essentials and headed north. Andrew's extended family lives in Pennsylvania and it had been almost two years since we all had a visit. Since our trip came together at the last minute (surprise, surprise) we opted to drive and make the most of every mile. Day one had us heading north of out Birmingham through Tennessee, Kentucky and stopping near Dayton, Ohio for the night. Nine hours and some crazy balloon hats later we arrived at great Aunt Evie and great Uncle Art's house. Day one was fairly uneventful, but they boys did great along the way. They were thrilled to get to our stop and pull out their Lightning McQueen sleeping bags. Aunt Evie won them over with hotwheels and sugar cookies!
After a leisurely morning and delicious breakfast we headed on our way to Pennsylvania. The boys kept asking where are we now? It was fun counting all the states we travelled through. Day two's six hour ride seemed short comparatively. Nevertheless, they were sooo ready to get to Gigi's house and asked about every five minutes "how much longer?" I enjoyed arriving to Grandma Walker's house with crisp fall weather in tow. She was so glad to see the boys! We spent the next day hanging out with all the extended family at Aunt Patty's house. The boys had a blast playing with second cousins Addison and Evan, Charlotte too. We enjoyed catching up with everyone and especially being with Andrew's Aunt Patty and Aunt Donna who are facing some health challenges God is good to allow us time to be together! We wish we could have more...

We had a great time seeing everyone. We only wish our time there was longer. We are thankful for a loving family and appreciate our time together even though the miles separate us!
