It's hard to believe 3/4 of a year has gone by with my two little guys. We're having so much fun watching them grow and become little people. Exploration is the name of the game lately, as their world keeps opening up around them. They want to see, touch, grab, pull up on and "talk" to everything, including each other. Please forgive the length of this list- it is my main way to journal and document, so ignore if you'd like!
Some things they're doing this month:
crawling quickly everywhere and picking up speed when mommy is coming after them
pulling up onto everything with ease
standing to play with one hand free
bounce or rock when they hear music from their learning table
play with their hair (or wings as Andrew calls them)
creeping along the couch and ottoman
playing "come and get mommy/daddy" crawling toward us
get very excited when their daddy comes home
love to listen to daddy play the guitar, very calming to them when fussy
playing peek-a-boo
eating soft foods with their fingers
pulling toys out of baskets, crawling into baskets
pulling items off couch, tables (coffee table is gone now!)
completely on formula
taking toys from each other and "fighting" over the same toy
waking early!! usually 6:15-6:45- no more beauty sleep for mommy
had their first cold, and Will's first trip to Children's with croup (no fun!)
enjoying their swings on the porch
crawling toward each other and laughing with recognition
saying ba-ba-ba and occasionally ma-ma-ma
using index finger to point and attempt to pick up puffs/food
looking for items even after they've been hidden or put away
consistently recognizing name and acknowledges when spoken to
recognizes/understands "no" with a look, then continues with the behavior- oh my!
becoming ridiculously difficult to diaper and dress- such wiggle worms!!
banging their toys and tossing them from the highchair
still very happy and content babies- so thankful for that
At their nine month check-up Logan weighed 20 lbs, 1 oz and is 29 inches long. Will is 19lbs, 15 oz and 29 1/4 inches long. They are both in the 50th and 45th percentile, respectively, for their weight, and 75th and 80th percentile for their length. My back and arms feel all forty pounds at the end of the day!
Looking out the window
Playing "come and get mommy"
Looking outside
Brothers having fun
There is never a dull moment around here, that's for sure! I still enjoy their two naps a day to get things done and feel somewhat productive. These two keep my hands full and my heart overflowing! I'm continuously thankful for the miracle of these two little boys and the tremendous blessing and responsibility that has been given to us. Even on days when I barely get a shower and dressed, I am reminded of the greatness of my job right now and loving every crazy minute of it!
Will and Logan- you melt my heart and are becoming such loving, sweet little babies. My favorite part of my day is going to get you up from your naps, you are both soo happy to see me. It is the sweetest thing when you stop what you are doing, look at me (and daddy) and your faces light up with huge grins! We pray for your daily, for protection over you and that we would be Godly parents to you. We treasure every minute with you and you bring so much joy to all those around you!
Love, Mommy and Daddy
