Hilton Head

We had a great get away with my family in Hilton Head Island last week. We were overdue for a break and family fun time. The boys did surprisingly well during our 8 hour drive down. (Thanks to some DVDs!) It was hot, hot, hot but we loved it. The boys had a blast- so many new things to see and explore: the pool, ocean, bike riding and looking for the gator in the lagoon. It was great having an extra set of hands to help with the boys and get some relaxing in as well.

The sand was a big hit and apparently it didn't taste too bad (yuck!) The boys LOVED the ocean- they both wanted to run right in. Why do I have the feeling they are going to be dare-devils like their daddy? They also loved chilling in their "boats" the oh-so-wonderful pool floats we brought.

Hilton Head is characterized by the beautiful trees draped with spanish moss and bike paths everywhere. We enjoyed taking the boys for a bike ride in their new trailer most days. It was a short ride to the beach and back to our condo. They loved it! I got my exercise in trying to keep up with Andrew pulling the boys. You would think towing 85 pounds would slow him down- nope.

Getting ready to leave on our big trip: luggage-check, dvd's -check, snacks-check, big boy backpacks filled with books and toys- check, check!! We're already missing the beach life and can't wait to go back next year! Thanks Grammie and Pops for a great week- we love you!
