Getting ready for pre-K! The summer flew by and it's already time to get back into the school year routine. My guys are super excited about starting a new school this year. We have been driving by and waving at their "big boy" school all summer. We loved our MDO program and were blessed by the staff and teachers (sniff, sniff) but now it's time for preschool! I am thrilled that our new school is only a 5 minute commute AND there is carpool, yay! At parent night we got to meet Mrs. Melissa and hear all about the exciting things they would be doing this year. We sat in their tiny chairs and their tables and learned about curriculum, structure and discipline. This lady has got it together. Blessed by a Master's level educator who clearly has a heart for children and the Lord!
We all couldn't wait for "meet the teacher" day to get the lay of the land. Sadly, a late summer stomach bug hit that week and took out Will first and of course, Logan several days later. Their sweet teacher, said they could come the day before school and have a private tour of their room! I could tell they were both excited and a little nervous at the same time. They were a little shy upon entering the room, but quickly warmed up by exploring the toy center! They checked out their cubbies, tables and name cards, and all the fun things on the walls. So much to take in!
They are stoked about a new playground to explore and were checking it out from the room.
We talked all the way home about the fun things they would get to do and learn this year: music class, PE, new playground, computer class, Spanish, field trips, the list goes on and on. It's going to be a great year, I just know it! I can't believe they are big enough for pre-K, how did it get here so fast? It's a bittersweet time for me, every fall when "school" starts. I get all sentimental and realize that another year has come and before I know it, they will be going off to college!! But for now, we will live in the moment and soak up all the great times that preschool brings. Let's just freeze these three right now- two handsome big guys and my itty bitty who is also growing way too fast!
