The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Independence Day

We celebrated America's birthday with a good old fashioned grill out.  Nana and Pappy joined us at our pool before dinner.  It was HOT with temps nearing 100 degrees, so the pool was the perfect way to cool down!  Dinner was almost ready when we got back and Daddy quickly fired up the grill to complete our meal.  Andrew wanted all his summer time favorites: steak, chicken, corn, watermelon, deviled eggs, potato salad, baked beans. It was quite the feast. And yes, there were only four adults present.  Logan and Will did help us out since they are such good eaters!
My guys loved waving their new flags and drinking through "firework straws," their new fave beverage- firecracker soda (cranberry juice, ginger ale and blueberries)  We decided to forgo live fireworks since the boys had just seen the show at the lake.  We watched the Capitol 4th on TV and the boys were still in awe of the fireworks!  They sat and frantically waved their flags like the children in the audience.  Maybe next year we can stay up a little later and see them in Birmingham.

Happy 4th of July!  Blessed to live in the land of the free!
