Sweet Friends...

 

It's always fun when friends come to visit! Especially when the sweet friends are lifelong friends who live out of state.  Last week my college roomie, Erica and her two kiddos came to have some fun with us in Bham.  My guys were beside themselves waiting for Miller and Eliza Kate to arrive.  Every day was a count-down to fun time with their little friends.  My two LOVE getting to be around big boy Miller (5) and sweet EK (2).  My house was filled with squeals, giggles and crazy fun for 2 1/2 days.  

They played so well together.  Of course we had moments to reign it all in, but mainly we were just trying to control the level of excitement.  They explored EVERY toy in the playroom and even came up with some new ways of having fun... crashing EK's pack-n-play.  Thankfully, we got a break in the rain and were able to enjoy energy releasing outdoor time! The slip-n-slide was a big hit, and that's where we hung both afternoons.  Even little Eliza Kate got the hang of it and giggled her way down the slide.  Erica and I sat back and enjoyed the fun, while constantly reminding them to take turns and not crash into each other.

Thursday we spent the morning at our pool at AVCC.  The baby pool (or little pool) was a hot spot where our monkeys splashed and squirted away.  We also got to practice our moves in the big pool. Having Miller there was good inspiration for my guys, who were eager to swim without their floaties.  Love how having a big kid around motivates them.  As you can see, those three are triple trouble!  

I told them I was glad they had "just a LITTLE bit of fun." I was quickly corrected- "no, momma we have a LOT of fun!"  You can see from these big smiles, summer fun was had by all!

We had lots of fun snacks, popsicles and of course, ice cream!!  We had to strip our crew down because of all the sticky, yummy mess.  Best part of summer...    

Thankful for sweet friends to share life's joys, craziness, struggles and fun with.  Praying my guys will have life-long friendships like the kind Erica and I have!  Thanks for coming and having summer fun with us.  Can't wait for next time...
